POEM FOR MY LEGS

POEM FOR MY LEGS (Poema a Mis Piernas)

I've got two long legs
that bend
like the bamboo
in front of my father's
country house.

At night they dangle
like vines
from the bed,
naked, they come undone
like two dark girls,
mortified.

When it raings
they hang out to dry
in the breeze,
they slip down
like two tears
they kiss
surrender
fertilize.
